These three intradas come from Melchior Franck's Musicalische Frölichkeit, published in Coburg in 1610, a mixed collection of vocal and instrumental music. Like other intradas by Franck the pieces go far beyond the normal limitations of the form: typical of this composer is the way that the last section of the first intrada develops over a simple bass figure.
In this edition the original note values have been retained. In the last intrada we have provided an undecorated version of the divisions contained in the first section.
